We were wanting to fit some solar lights to the fence in our garden.
Rather than fit the lights to the fence panels, I wanted to fix them to the fence posts.
However, the fixing points for the lights were too wide to suit the width of the fence posts.
My solution was to design an adapter bracket that would pick-up the two fixing points for the lights, but only require a single central hole to be drilled into the fence post.
Having developed an idea from initial sketches, I created a 3D CAD model of the adapter bracket, along with a representation of the light and fence post, with the adapter bracket then 3D printed in PLA and screwed to the fence posts, before the lights were fitted.
